A piece inspired by a giant beetle, Goliathus orientalis. Obviously, this isn’t the -exact- species, I’ve been seeing beetles a lot during my meditations mixed with gorgeous rainbow colors, and during those meditations everything just flows together in flowing shapes. This is my attempt to capture that feeling of warm, flowing goodness, while being a specific subject matter. It’s something I’d love to explore more!

By the way, although this one is a deeply personal piece, I also get the sense that it’s meant to go out into the world at some point. So, the original is up for sale, if anyone is interested! It’s about 5.5 x 4 inches, done in marker. It’s hard to show in photos, but the gold portion is a metallic gold, it’s shine is really neat to see at different angles. $55 for the original.
