i'm working on bringing out the treble more

Again, a very nice performance, it is a not too harpy, (due to the period of the piece), but I'd be lying if I said that rolled voices are okay for newer music for classical guitar (late baroque to romantic), but it takes time to get it right, right? And you're doing great (how long have you been playing?)
heheh thanks man!! :3
i found some lute tuned tracks at http://www.classtab.org/
few and far between but they're there for sure

Holy thanks for the link, dude <3
I'm still a huge ball of suck with my acoustic here, but it's great having some new material to poke at! I've found decent tab coverage of my folkier interests, but this is a fun new avenue to pursue <3
Also, beautiful playing! It's inspiring me to spend more time plunking away here as well ^_^

Great playing. I think the 'harpy' style of playing as you call it is pretty decent. I mean, a performance should be judged more on the actual feel and style, rather than hitting every note with perfect attack and tone. Not saying you didn't though.
Thanks for linking to that tab site up there in the comments section. I should probably get to learning some more traditional pieces for classical myself. Keep up the good work!

you said that you tuned your guitar to a lute. What do you mean by that? Tune the stings to match that of a lute or actrully re-string it to sound in the same octave as a lute? <.< either way i would love to tune my classic guitar to sound more like a lute.. XD though lutes do sound much better.. O.o BTW this is pretty, I do like it, Have you ever tried a song with a mandolin?
thanks! i got big hands so it's hard for me to play mandolin XD
lute tuning is just E A d f♯ b e, and then i pluck the strings slightly above the sound hole instead of slightly below to give it a lute-y dynamic
some people additionally capo the third fret, to make it G c f a d" g which is the actual tuning for 6-string lute, but i didn't do that because my guitar, being kind of cheap, doesn't handle capo all that well, heheh

aaaah but i play the electric guitar, and pretty much every pimply high school kid is fucking badass at electric :c
give bored young males an instrument that promises to make them both impressive to chicks and cool to their peers and they will pretty much become geekily virtuosic at it. that's the electric guitar, in the hands of any guy but me :c. not saying i'm terrible, but i've played on and off for 4 years now and i should be better.

Interesting! That's a very languid version of the tune; I imagine everyone is drunk and sleepy by this point :) My favourite version of this was belted out at a rollicking pace by some choral singers backed by drums: clearly the height of the party, with everyone singing along and banging on the tables!
Hah, I knew I'd dig something up eventually.
This is really good! Gotta love Renaissance music... or is this Medieval? Not sure. Regardless, I really love how the key changes are pretty free form. Classical era folks would have hated it!
Also, I don't think your technique is sloppy at all.

thank u! such a fun song! i haven't played this song nor any of the usual european stuff in a while but i still play all the time. lately i am learning turkish and indian traditional stuff! good luck with making music, it's so much fun. also i love the craft work in your gallery, the reed weaving and chairs etc, i am a huge admirer of traditional crafts
You're welcome, and your art is groovy, by the way. :) I'm quite interested in world music in general, but the past two years, lute tunes (mainly renaissance) in general have taken up much of my music time. Albeit, I'm just now really starting to work my into the lute tuning on my guitar. In addition, I appreciate the comment about my seat weaving--it's a fun hobby to be sure, and feels good to keep a useful old skill alive.
