When the morning came, Ferdinand, Valiente and Guapo were extremely excited.
But this time, they waited to see if someone would say that he had what was now termed between them "the big dream" too.
And while nothing was said, the pointed look Guapo gave Maquina, and the nod the silent bull gave in reply, were a clear answer.
"Okay, so if I get it right, Maquina got thinking a lot yesterday," said Paco, translating the bull's grumbles during breakfast.
Everyone had been surprised at first at how quickly and easily these two had clicked.
Until Ferdinand sniggered that the grumpy sheepdog and the frowning bull were a match made in heaven.
It took a whole day for the laughing to end, and a whole week for Paco to stop glaring daggers at Ferd.
But indeed, the two had become good friends. And while everyone could understand Maquina for the short, normal discussions, the dog had become his de facto interpret for longer, more complicated arguments.
"He was thinking about why Ferdinand and Valiente had the big dream together, and why Guapo had it alone, and why he began having it one day after them. Then thinking if there was something in real life that followed that pattern. And he found one: the pond water they drank."
All the animals gasped.
"You think that what made the water taste bad is causing these dreams?!" exclaimed Guapo.
Maquina nodded, and grumbled some more.
"So yesterday, when he woke up from the nap, he went to drink from the pond to verify."
Maquina grimaced to say that the water still tasted awful.
"And you had the big dream? You were humanoid? You were doing what?"
More grumbles.
"So yeah, he was humanoid, the first time it happened for him. And he was... uh, what's the word they used in that tv emission? Scientist! There, he was a scientist in a lab, complete with that big white clothing and these glass things humans use for their eyes!"
Everyone exchanged surprised looks. They all knew Maquina had been a guinea pig for a lab before being sent at Casa Del Toro, but they'd have thought he wouldn't have kept good memories of it.
"Maybe the way he got the dream influenced it? I mean, he already acted... science-like, thinking and testing like he did, no?" guessed Lupe.
"Probably. Maybe the scientists of his lab rubbed on him."
"Okay, get to the good stuff! How did the dream go?!"
Maquina smirked and grumbled some more...

Hey there, yet again! I know, I know, I'm still commenting when I have other reviews before your Kaiju Rising series, but I have to quickly say - I was very, very happy to see a scientist bull, woo hoo!
Hah, seriously though, I thought it was actually really cool to have Maquina be a scientist. Plus, having him stuffed into that lab coat, Maquina's looking very impressive!
Anyway, that should be me for a little while after this recent comment surge, so until next time, whenever that may be, take care and have a great night!

Ha ha, well, I’ll confess, I’ve never actually seen the movie - not because I wasn’t interested mind you! It was for reasons I won’t bore you with here. So, I naturally did the next best thing - I looked up just about everything I could, ha!
What can I say though, as soon as I saw the trailer for it, I was very interested! Of course, it was about the absolute titan that is Ferdinand, and it had him in a house that was just slightly (or should that be ‘slightly’?) too small for him, and, well, I know what I like, and I think you might since I’ve mentioned it a few times, ha ha!

Hah, yeah, I know, it must seem like I have, but hey, I make up for it by checking it out as much as I can.
Don't worry though, I've read up enough to know all the main details, and a fair few of the little ones, to be able to get the references! Besides, big, muscular, growy bulls, oh yeah, I'd read up on it regardless probably!
