So I got this fucking adorable German Shepherd/ Malamute/ Chow mix from the Humane Society that Blaze had paid for Valentines Day as a gift to me, and he is the smartest pup I have ever had. I got him on January 28th of this year.
A few days ago Sully had started vomiting and had diarrhea. He was lethargic, and lost his appetite. Yesterday Blaze and I took him to the LVSES (A very good emergency animal hospital) to see what was going on. To our despite, he was positive for parvovirus. (For more information, follow this link-- http://www.peteducation.com/article.....55&aid=467)
It is a dangerous medical condition that can kill a puppy if not caught in time, or if the pup is very young. So you could only imagine the grief Blaze and I are going through for Sully, your little angel.
Treating the symptoms of the parvovirous is not cheap. The highest the treatment could potentially cost depending if he can fight the virus or not is about $2200. As you can tell Blaze and I are in a financial shit hole now, and we both have 3 other dogs so they could get sick (even though they are older and are updated on their shots), and it would cost more.
I have been trying to look for a job, while Blaze is still working on Laptops, but it still isn't enough.
As of today, Blaze and I are starting to do commissions as a fundraiser for Sully's medical bills. This will really help us and of course--Sully.
As of the price of the commissions, its up to the customer. A donation is out of the kindness of your heart, and any money coming in from commissions is a blessing. And since I do not have a job and only 12 hours of school a week, I have more than enough time to draw and draw for the well-being of my pup.
So please, help Blaze and I help Sully, the pup who should not have this dreaded and life threatening virus in the first place.

I know how you feel, I've lost a dog some years ago from this same virosys :(
Happily the other 2 dogs were ok, I had time to treat them in advance, them they didnt got the disease.
I can't help with commissions, so my recommendation for you, in case you have no conditions (probably your vet recommended, but it's good to remember):
- keep the place clean. That means wash every time your pet vomiting or poo, using chloride to desinfect. The chloride is very important!!! this visosis is capable to reinfect the pet, then cleansing is very important.
- you can give something for vomiting and diarrhea, it's actually what kills the pet (lose fluids). Bromoprida for vomiting, atropina for cholica (generic chemical names). Both you can buy in drugstores. I don't know label/brand names, then you should ask for stuff using this, usually atropina is period pain medicine.
- Intravenous saline to recover fluids. If you find a nice petshop, you can find a kind of saline with parvovirosis antigen, then you can use in your pet. It's important to know the weight ;)
For your other pets:
- do NOT vaccine them for parvovirus, because if they are already infected, they would have the virosis faster and stronger.
- there is a medicine that prevent them to have the sympthoms if they are already infected, it's a kind of antigen, your vet can give a dosis intravenous ( I've saved my pets with this). Your other pets MUST get this antigen, so they will be ok for 10 days, then get another dosis, then vaccine. If your vet doesn't mention this, ask him/her. If he/she says that doesn't exist, look for another vet. And don't worry, this antigen is not expensive (at least wasn't to me).
In both cases you must be fast!
I hope you get lot of commissions to help your puppy

Thank you so much for this useful information! Right now I am worried about our other dogs, but they should be old enough to fight it and not get sick. My mom is an RN and if I have a sick or injured pet I go to her to see if it needs medical attention. She has helped me help my pets and also helped me save some money. I love my Momma :3
