Shankar’s beginnings are quite unknown to many, though this is quite common for many ghost type pokemon such as her. Being born or created by outside means such as a spirit stuck in the world of the living, or born natural as with most other pokemon. The only thing that is easy to piece with Shankar is that she was born through the same means as most other Dhelmise, with a cluster of seaweed taking parts of a wrecked ship and giving her a physical form. Most pokemon who have met her often say she was born from the spirit of a pirate from long ago as she acts almost like a pokemon from that time. This is thanks to her strong interest and fascination with all sorts of treasure, wanting to plunder whatever valuables she can. Although, she often forgets valuables alone won't exactly help her buy stuff she's interested in. This interest in treasures was what led her to one day leave the ocean to find a safe place to store her treasure or even give it in exchange for items. his would be when Shankar actually took interest to the world outside of the ocean and notice just what sort of things all the pokemon find themselves doing. With anchor by her side and a love for treasure, she'll often explore the surface to see what is in store for her. Even if she is still out of date with the current times.
