Halloween. If there was one perfect day out of the entire year, this was it. Hallow’s Eve was the one time of the year that ghosts, ghouls, and goblins could come out and walk amongst the common humans, without anyone batting an eye or being any the wiser. Carissa was one of those “ghouls”, or, rather, a vampiric succubus. Carissa hardly cared as much as most supernatural creatures about hiding her appearance, apart from her keeping her black as night bat wings a secret. Barring that and her habit of carrying around an umbrella in broad daylight to shade her pearl skin from the harsh sun, Carissa looked like any other “person”. Halloween, on the other hand, allowed her to drop the disguise, and prowl the night-time streets for her targets while people simply looked on and complimented her on her “costume”. Despite her usual taste for certain types of “sustenance”, however, Carissa didn’t come out on Halloween for THOSE kinds of marks. Halloween made Carissa as happy as a clam for one reason and one reason alone: free candy. Forget the sin of lust her race was typically known for. Carissa’s sin was gluttony, and Halloween was arguably the best holiday of the year for her to “pig out”. Whether hitting up houses or crashing parties, Carissa’s “costume” let her conquer every place she went to for their heavenly delicious prizes. Carissa was to her candy as a dragon was to it’s hoard; protective, greedy, and willing to do whatever it took to make the collection grow. Fortunately, between Carissa’s otherwordly charm and her convincing “attire”, it was with minimal effort that she amassed a wealth of sweets by the end of the night with which to indulge herself on for weeks if not months to come. Halloween was indeed the most perfect day of the year.
