How did a Priest of Set and a wizard of tremendous skill and power come to serve the same cause? It is unknown, but whatever the cause, they stand together now, and their dastardly foe shall face a grave threat with their joined might.

The crocodilian brandished his sacrificial dagger and smiled dangerously. He did not exude magical power in the same way that his counterpart did, but there was an aura of power that whispered around him. Priests of Set had a fearsome reputation, for their god was the legendarily fearsome Great Serpent, who was generous to his adherents and terrible to his enemies.

"Come to me and die, outlander, I will put your heart on the Great Serpent's altar."

Meanwhile, Basil gave a modest smile: the grin of one who was humble but was well-learned in his art. He had studied at the feet of mage-kings and supposedly had even studied a compendium of magical lore that brought together all the magical traditions of the known world. There were those among the sorcerer's fellows who even claimed he had studied the darker mysteries, but this was mere slander.
