After the 2008-2009 FBA season, Joey Cox was fed up. The roadrunner point guard had started his career with the Thrust, drafted just months after the brutal clawing that nearly ended star point guard Buck Hopper's career. Excited at the promise of leading one of the best teams in the FBA, his dreams were dashed when B-Hop had other plans, recovering and playing even better than before. When the team made the 2009 Finals, Hopper was averaging over 46 minutes per game-- leaving the young point stuck watching from the bench.
PCH demanded a trade, and he got his wish. The roadrunner was shipped to Biloxi to play for the Mudpuppies and in return, the Thrust got Randy Catcher, a young bullfrog point guard who just had just finished his first year in the pros. A late draft pick, Dig 'Em brought an unusual game, high-jumping but slow-footed, below-average O but above-average D. The team questioned if the kid would be a good fit, but when he learned to play with Doral and bring the most intense back court defense the club had ever seen, the questions stopped.
