Jodi, the owner/editor of the "The American Face Painter" magazine ( http://www.americanfacepainter.com/ ) contacted me out of the blue at the beginning of Janurary and graciously offered to feature my work in the Feb International Issue, so of course, I jumped at the chance! :D
Everyone chosen to be featured in that issue had to paint something that represented their country in some way, so I chose a moose, because they're everywhere here in Norway (we see them standing on the road all the time--they even like to peek into our windows! http://www.dagbladet.no/2010/01/06/.....dmark/9802537/ ...Plus, every souvenir shop in Oslo has tons of moose-themed paraphernalia, and every sausage shop sells moose-meat sausage (I'm addicted to the stuff myself). :9~
I wanted the moose to be in a birchwood setting, because birch trees are also very common here (we have several in our backyard). Thus this was the design I came up with (painted on my ever-patient hubby, Sayh, of course; he's always my guinea pig), and Jodi liked it so much, she chose to put it on the magazine cover!!! *faint*
You can see a preview of it here, posted with Jodi's permission: http://swandogstudio.com/moosefacecover.png (or view it on the magazine's website, at least until the end of Feb). :) So Sayh's face will be "famous" now, and I'll get a little extra exposure for my facepainting work--sure can't beat that! :D
