This was the poster I drew for my Father-in-law's 60th birthday party, and I only had a couple of days to do it, so there was no time to color it, sadly. His name is Bjørn, which means "bear" in Norwegian, and so (thanks to AmraPus' suggestion) I made the theme of the poster go along with this old children's poem, but had the date set 10 years later, and made it be a surprise party: http://barne.koordinatoren.com/index2.php?option=com_content&do_pdf=1&id=71 :) The grandpa bear's pose and clothing were based on this one: http://static-p4.fotolia.com/jpg/00.....6nCpuWYLdY.jpg and all the other creatures were from my imagination.

ooh very nice! I love the whole scene- especially the moose and bear! Squirrel, wolf, badger are great too! Wish the hedgehog could have more detail- oh well- he's tiny:) Love the font on the banner and the birch trees as well. Your bear came out nicer than the prototype:)
I can get the general idea of the poem based on my German and a little experience with Norse languages- the rhymes have a very nice roll to them
