Honestly, I wish that I'd have spent the early part of my artistic development NOT doing anime. You pick up a lot of bad habits that are hard to kick later on. Changing is like learning to draw all over again.
I feel like I could've gotten a lot farther without it.
But it's always nice to doodle back in your roots, huh?

Yeah I know what you mean... I went through a similar phase ~mostly because I was stuck in nevada on 700 acres of property living off of solar power with my parents god knows how many miles from the nearest POWER POLE...anyway~ I got a ton of the "how to draw manga" books, and I used them. I've been trying my hardest to get away from a pure anime-eque style.. and I think it's working. I hope. I pray.
