Normally I don't upload "sketchy" pics, but I liked how this one came out. We went on vacation to the Norwegian fjords, where we visited, among other places, the Urnes Stave Church ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urnes_stave_church ), which I'd long wanted to see IRL. We stayed nextdoor at the farm which raises red deer ( http://www.urnes.no/home.html ), and I was inspired to draw the Stag of St. Eustace ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Eustace ) along with the famous knotwork carved on the side of the church ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:.....esportalen.jpg ). I drew it in the farm's guestbook at the little "Stabburet" in which we stayed ( http://www.urnes.no/stabburet.html ), and took this photo of it since I couldn't scan it...thus it's not the best quality. I really love drawing Norse knotwork--it's more challenging than Celtic, IMO--so expect to see more of it from me in the future. :)
