And she is FINISHED!
My poor computer hated me for painting this digitally. It REALLY hates me when I paint in Open Canvas AND Photoshop.
But at least it's finally finished, and only 30 minutes past the deadline I set for myself ( don't you just love it when other people dump extra work on you, making it difficult for you to get your own work done? ).
Original roughs done in my sketchbook, then lightboxed onto 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock, where the pencils where tightened.
Inked with Speedball Super Black india ink and a Raphael Kolinsky sable hair number 2 round brush.
Scanned into Photshop CS3, and cleaned up.
Painting was a mixture of both Open Canvas 3.03E Plus and Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Like I've said before, Photoshop STILL doesn't paint the way I like, but OC does. However Photoshop CS3 can do things that OC CAN'T. So I try to find the happy medium between the two. Who ever said one HAS to use one program and one program only?
Prints will be available for sale at my table at AnimeNEXT 2010, over on DA, and eventually through Bee-Hive Studios!

Open Canvas is GREAT for the "real painted" look. It just chokes your computer up when you're working on a detailed piece, and does NOT like big big big pieces.
Just takes a lot of practice, and studying the heck out of the color wheel... I like to treat my digital painting as if I were working in acrylics or watercolors, minus the whole having to pretreat my canvas thing. XP
