Interesting story, would kinda like to see how you tie it into the Folly series, should you decide to do so. Should you decide not to patch it into the Folly series, it would also be nice to see if / where you go from here with it. I loved the Folly series and all the short(er) stories you've done pertaining to the same storyline, just haven't commented on anything up until this point, mainly due to me only recently finding your FA account. Good to see you're still around, at least!

I recently got done reading most of your WIP stuff on the yahoo group, me likey. I found myself listening to a 40-some-odd video Youtube playlist of Meat Loaf after seeing you reference a few songs; kinda hate I hadn't found the music before, it's good stuff. Guess that's one of the problems with music that was written mostly before one was born That, and being part of a generation rather notorious for lack of knowledge / respect of anything predating themselves / ourselves. I also found it interesting one of the songs Neal indirectly referenced had the line "A wasted youth is better by far than a wise and productive old age" considering just how wise and productive Neal has been in his (apparently) considerable old age.

Well, the stuff he made before the late 1989 was before I was born, I didn't realize Meat Loaf was such a prolific artist, still producing music even.

now that was very nice... I think the larger story would be quite good. I also noted that your writing skills are very good - everything was where it was supposed to be.

Like my writing, my excuse for writing skills are still a work in progress (though I think my old English teachers would pass out at the mere thought of my pretending to write!) I’ve had lots of help; several others suggest and point out goofs (and Goldie does the final goof/spell/punctuation checks.) And please keep going with your pirates!

Interesting! I like how you adapted the Greek myth of the gods occasionally traveling incognito to the story, as well as 'Traveler' communicating directly with Blackie.

Ah, well, thems hellcats have them deities that do strange thing to/for them sometimes. And even before that one silly star trek (why does 'god' need a space ship?) I figured energy beings would be limited to traveling at light speed or slower - unless they could 'catch' a ride on something faster.

And one of them finds Neal's antics 'interesting' enough to follow and see what he does next. (And she and others have just found the Oceanwalker process - Which they used on poor little Blackrose. )
