Reminder that the daily art is gonna stop tomorrow as I transition to trying to write a novel.
The character on the left is Pepper. She is based on an old mouse-based character I used to roleplay on my first MUD who was named Mia. Older iterations saw her blindly chasing magical power. This iteration exists in a realm where magic is purely fictional, and she manipulates and steals her way to her goals when playing by the rules doesn't work. She loves a particular brand of rabbit-themed cartoons. Loves it so much that she tries to make herself into one.
The character on the right is Ribbons, who I drew without referring to previous sketches. Older iterations of the character saw her blindly obsessed with a catboy and his family. This iteration is a "toy" that was created with the help of Luna's blood and flesh to prove that such bodies were viable, sustainable, and capable of service as a replacement body for a human. Pepper can't stand her presence, feeling that Ribbons will eventually be used to replace her after she dies and that Ribbons might see that as an inventation to encourage Pepper's demise.
Having been "born" directly into her bodyshape, Ribbons does not have nearly the experience, knowledge, coordination, or maturity of Pepper, and being raised in a completely different environment means she will not and cannot ever be the Astro to Pepper's Tobio.
Really I just drew this picture as an excuse to have more pictures of low angle view on these kinds of characters, and with the hope I could use it as a placeholder cover art if needbe.
Anyway. Anyone know a good place to post fiction in progress? I'll probably be writing in Google Docs. I might post a copy of stuff that I like to the scraps on dA and FA, but given most people watching this account are here for cutesy balloon art, daily posts of desperate unplanned and unedited rambling in the vague shape of a story would probably be considered spam.
I might just make a single post at the start or end of the vent and link to a Google Doc or something.
