Clock running out. Forced to shoot from fifteen. Seven inch disadvantage against the D. Off-balanced with the fade. Contested on the one-handed shot.
And an easy deuce for John Stoat.

Another wonderful drawing from the extraordinary
dhstein, who is fast becoming one of my favorite artists for con commissions! I had this made at FurCon 2010. I did make some adjustments in Photoshop (most noticeably in the back of Kwaku Bbwaddene's jersey), but the way she captures action is marvelous! This is exactly the kind of shooting that has made Juju one of the most feared players in the FBA.

Kwaku looks exactly the way I imagined. The lawng blawnd hair.
I can only wonder how he'd look in color. He's got, uh, green fur, right? :O
I like how one plays with shoes and one (apparently)doesn't.
I wonder if, since BHop's rookie year, it's become more common to see the occasional shoeless FBA player.

Yes! Kwaku is, indeed, a green wolf with blonde hair. It's why one of his early nicknames was Blanka.
I should color this pic in! I would love to see how the Howlers jersey looks in color. I told the artist to just draw Blanka's jersey any way she wanted to. I love what she came up with! Hopefully Howlers GM
paulshep will like it, too.
You are seeing that right! Juju plays with shoes on, but Blanka goes barefoot. In the FBA, shoes are optional; players can decide whether to wear them or not, and can even change it up mid-game, like how Hopper put on shoes after his ankle injury in Game 5 of the 2009 Finals.
I'm sure it is! When B-Hop started his career barefoot, a lot of critics derided him for it. They shut up as soon as he was averaging over 30 points a game. And having such a big superstar play shoeless has made it easier for other athletes to follow the same route. Kwaku started his career in shoes, but took them off after his first season when he found it easier to play the way he had learned back home.

Yes! They're a little hard to see, but in Diana Harlan Stein's earlier drawing of John Stoat, there's a pair of goggles pushed up over his eyes.
John Stoat has had a lifelong problem with nearsightedness, which was a challenge to overcome, especially with a game built around the deep shot. It's just one of the reasons many critics thought he wouldn't have a chance in the FBA. But hard work, determination, and a pair of corrective goggles have made him one of the most accurate shooters to ever play the sport.
