This happened to me once, while hiking the expert trail on Grandfather Mountain right after a snowstorm. It's funny how things seem to slow down as it happens, so you can reach out and grab a branch quickly as you slide past!
I thought it was great fun, but my friends were quite startled. I suppose that if I had slid all the way down I could have been seriously hurt or killed, but at the time I couldn't stop laughing.
