I think they scrapped that rule. With every codex they remove more and more fun stuff for the orks.

Oh, I've never actually played any of the tabletop games. I'm only familiar with lore from YouTube and PC games such as Dawn Of War.

The orks used to have all kinds of cool rules. They could use looted equipment and vehicles, their vehicles were faster if they were painted red, they got morale boosts from being in large numbers, they were able to regroup and consolidate their forces after taking battlefield losses, stuff like that. These rules all went away one after the other.

I coulda done that, but I have yet to find definitive artwork of what a Melta Charge looks like ... except the canisters the Space marines keep throwing around.

I don't think Khorne's followers can really be said to be sadistic. Quite the opposite in fact. Sadism would definitely be Slaneesh's thing, prolonging the pain for as long as possible, while Khorne would just want the slaughter.
