On this lovely day, Shiro and Cyrcas are getting started on a little impromptu frisbee-throwing competition in the park, while their good buddy Tolenn is content to just stay back and chill out, watching the purses with a good book.

A bit of an experiment on my part, combining my lineless style for the background with linework for the characters. Did learn a thing or two while making this, so it was a definite win.
Despite the similarities, this Shiro actually has nothing to do with the Shiro portrayed in my previous piece; I just loved him so much I refused to let him go to waste now that the campaign I played him in has concluded. So here he is in a new life, either as an alternate universe twin, or the actor who will one day play his role in the film adaptation of that game. Or whatever, something like that. I realize the possible continuity between these two pics is probably of no interest to anyone but me, but it's still fun to come up with scenarios to explain it.

I'm glad to see that this kitsune fashion sense survived the campaign!! (and take some pride in helping him survive the campaign in the first place ^w^)
As for the art I really like the mix between linework for the character and lineless for the background.
I remember seeing a short webcomic you did a while ago and being dumbfounded at how good some of the background looked in your lineless style (I'm thinking of a particular aerial shot of a forest that looked great), but thinking it was sometime hard to evaluate the distance between character especially if some were closer to the point of view then other. I feel like there was a huge improvement on that point in this piece with the linework and shading making it really clear. The lineless background make it vivid which look particularly great with natural landscape. So all in all I believe you should continue experimenting with this style.
