In Greek mythology, Pegasus is a winged white horse very fast born from the rape of Medusa by Poseidon who sprang out of her neck when she got beheaded by Perseus. Bringing lightnings and thunner to Olympus and having fun with the Muses, he creates the Hippocrene stream in a blow of his hoof and serves Bellerophon's steed for killing the chimera before rearing after thr sting of a horsefly sent by Zeus (the hero had gotten a big head and had decided to go to Olympus) and have him fall into a thorn bush making him lame and blind. Following that, Zeus thanks Pegasus for his true and tried services by making him the constellation of the same name
