When introduced i thought something like spi armor be perfect for the odst since more cost effective. I do believe their was a unsc marine or oni that wore this up till even after the war. My lore on the franchise tad rusty since doesnt pay too much to it much these days. But imagine it, a spi 3rd generation armor just made for the odst's. It would definitely be step in right direction for them.
