Slip Through the Night
He is so beautiful, this one. He slips through the woods and jungle with nary a sound slipping from his graceful, sleek form. I just love him! And, what's more, those spots are positively beautiful. The deep brownish/reddish/blackish coat of the jaguar is just...too beautiful! I think I must switch my fursona from black leopard/lion hybrid to black jaguar/lion hybrid!

Oh, but milady... leopard and jaguar... same thing, just a different name =~.^= Like as with mountain lion/puma/cougar; same name for the same animal. It's the same here; a leopard is a jaguar is a panther =~.^=

I agree that they are very beautiful, but I must disagree that leopards and jaguars are the same animal. Indeed they are not The jaguar, sitting just under the lion, is larger than the leopard and favors water. Leopards are smaller, falling just under the cougar and favors trees. Jaguars are also indigenous to South America while leopards are indigenous to Africa. Moreover, the spot pattern on jaguars differs from those of leopards. Jaguars typically have rosettes with spots in the center while leopards have rosettes without spots in the middle. So, I promise you that they are different cats.

And again, I learned something! I admit I did know there's a subtle difference between Felis Pardus and Felis Panthera, but I was a little bit fuzzy on the exact details. I guess the spots made me miss those details by dancing before my eyes so much =^_^= Thank you for the enlightenment, milady!

I SO know what you mean. There are a good many dogs that I really like, and I can get along with a lot of dogs as well, there's even some breeds of dogs that I would love to have as pets, but in the end, I still have to admit that Garfield's motto is tattooed across my heart; "Cats Rule, Dogs Drool"
