! My grandmother makes something similar to this, with a few minor differences. It might seem like an odd combo, but trust me when I say it's delish! ~Oli

1 c. rice
1 lb. hamburger
1 onion, cut fine
1 lg. head cabbage
1 can tomato soup
Water and 2 tbsp. vinegar
Cook rice in water for 15 minutes, drain. Add hamburger, onion, mix well. Wilt cabbage by running hot water over it. Separate the leaves. Take a cabbage leaf and put 1 tablespoon of rice mixture on it.
Fold and roll and put them side by side in greased casserole. Pour 1 can tomato soup, water and vinegar over this. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. Add more water, as needed, while baking.
My experience and advice:
To be honest... It's not enough soup at all D: It's actually very tasteless when you use that little amount of soup. More soup wont hurt. I would suggest mixing it in with the rice and beef mix before wrapping because the rice and beef is REALLY boring in there without much else to make it taste good. These were only slightly like what my dad made, my dad's had more seasoning and sauce in the rice I think. >_>;
Sorry it looks so gross ; x;
Notes from Oli: To spice up the beef and rice mixture try adding in some garlic, basil, and coarse ground black pepper.
