Halo Alternate.
Subject: Janus
A.I. augmented cyborg and close-combat specialist.
Armaments: Plasma sword, combat shotgun, silenced magnum.
Autonomous A.I. capable of wireless hacking, tactical coordination, routing troop deployment, and hardware manipulation.
Rejected from the Spartan project early on- continued service by testing military equipment- and was later reinstated to the UNSC due to the growing demand for trained personnel as part of the Spartan III project.
Before reinstatement, he served as a test subject in bonding 'smart' A.I. to Spartan cybernetics. At the time, it was thought that such a bonding would result in a type of Man/Machine synchronization, however, the newborn construct (Cheshire, as the A.I. was nicknamed) quickly evolved a polar-opposite personalty. This was a partial success, as the two complimented each each other. However, this led to personality disorders. As Janus ranged from introspective to outright reclusive, Cheshire became increasingly social and overly outgoing. Adapting a sense of Carpe-Diem, due to the short lifespans of similar A.I.s, made it increasingly difficult for Chesh to function in a military environment. As such, she became the first A.I. on file, to be charged with sexual harassment.
Although Janus is trained as specialist- he maintains a Lone-Wolf peronality (even compared to an average spartan II)- this makes him ineffective when operating in a group, and ill-equipped to operate alone. However, simulations with this pairing are encouraging- specifically Cheshire's ability to manipulate shipboard environments, and coordinate both friendly and enemy troops, to force situations that favor Janus' skill set.
Despite being a Spartan-class unit, this pair is not to be cleared for any high level mission.
