So I joined up with the Toy Soldiers a few months back, and I've been trying to get some stuff together for a passable uniform, with little success. But, then I got this awesome shirt at Macy's, recalled that I had this cool leather officer's cap, some stickers and saw these buttons and the patch in the Furry Market at FC. The two buttons in the middle with Dr. Steel's mug on 'em I made from a pair of stickers I got from
ratspeed 's crew, a couple of lock-washers and some gold crimping beads.
The big gear-buttons are going on my epaulettes, the Steel buttons I haven't decided where, yet, and the patch is goin' over me pocket.
All Hail DR. STEEL!

Go for it! I got the idea from an earlier pin I'd made from a picture I'd cut off of an old vintage card that had sew-on shirt snaps on it. Their logo was this bizarre-looking fifties-style "Borg" woman with the CREEPIEST smile and one of the sew-on snaps in place of one eye. I glued it to a pin-back, coated it in clear glue, and stuck on the lock-washer and crimp beads. Everyone comments on it when I wear it, so I thought it would work great for the Dr. Steel pins, since I didn't have nay merch yet, other than some stickers... So some of the stickers that
gave me were sacrificed in the name of creativity.

Lucky you. All I got to call "mine" right now is my work-space in the apartment I share with Kani and the concrete pad/patio I keep my container-garden on, and I rent those... Well, Kani does. My business hasn't been enough, yet to help pay for more than the materials Kani buys for me to make stuff with, so far. I'm working on that, though. >^____^<
im techy/electronic more than steam though
converted a 9 LED flashlight to a UV light so my room mate an appliance repairman could lighten his load instead of a big AC fluresent light now its this compact little flashlight LOL (its used to find the dye injected into refrigerant systems looking for leaks)

Neat! The whole Dr. Steel thing is more of a music phenom, though, that, and a world-class, goofy gag that's just really entertaining. The SteamPunx got on it because it just fit really well with their whole outlook. Modifying tech -stuff totally works with the genre, by the way. Just stick some brass fittings and gears on there and you're "cookin' with steam!"
