For one more day, the rescue efforts were kept halted.
The day was spent using the system Dagon used to implant knowledge in Syssim's mind to instantly teach the Deep Ones' language to the UN Peacekeepers, then work on making softer, better approaches to the waking ones.
When came the following day, Dagon began deactivating capsules anew.
At first, it was difficult still. The deep ones coming out of hibernation still freaked out at the sight of these strange, not blue-skinned creatures without fins.
But the fact they spoke their language did effectively help a lot calming them down, and the rescue effort could begin in earnest.
And grew faster and easier with each passing day, since the awakened deep ones began participating in it as they recovered and learned of their new situation.
Oh, it never was flawless, there could still be big freak outs from those waking up.
And numerous were the poor aliens who fainted under the shock of learning they had spent millions of years in hibernation, and were now on a planet already occupied. Many cries of "STRETCHER!" filled the Y'ha-nthlei, and the relief force didn't have one second of free time.
But it still went relatively well, and after two weeks, the entire million of deep ones boarding the arkship were fully awakened, and receiving the same express lessons in human history and culture from Dagon, while the Peacekeepers did a report, and the UN began completely reflecting on the "what now" part of the situation...
