Critique?! But it's...so good! :O :O :O And I totally agree with the message. Cats *always* cheat.
Ok, what could I say? Your expressions are silly and lovely. The colours could be balanced better, but I'm sure they're based off of the colours of the real life objects. This is personal opinion, but I think it would be interesting to see the background colours a bit muted or pastel, they're very bright and might drown out the characters. I'm rather rubbish at doing any colour myself. I wouldn't comment on shading, because I feel the flatness creates an interesting feel overall, and I really like how even your lines are.

I'll definitely take your muted/pastel advice on board when I take this into the shading stage- I left it so saturated because I usually play it too safe, and also my shading/highlights quickly turns already-muted colours into mud. I see what you mean about drowning in it, oh boy.

i think the rat / mouse should have claws or nails on the feet
if you want my favorite Feets are plantigrade 5 toes with pads , would be awsome to see the cat with it.( or other character)
and if you like more feral feets , Otter & Rats / Mouses have 5 toes on the feet ^^
