Islamorada

Two years ago, nearly three now, I made a voyage to Miami and the Keys with my family. It was and still is one of my very best holidays. In fact, my deep impressions of this terrestrial paradise inspired me to the only poems I ever wrote, and will do for quite a long time. I found them in an old notebook, surely I have to work them over. They are roughly lined to the actual tour, named after the single Keys. This one is called "Islamorada", and is my best one to my own opinion. I am not sure about the translation, but did my best to keep the laconic style and the textual specialties. Maybe I will post the other ones too, if there are some people who want to read them.
Islamorada
unendlicher Himmel
gezupfte Wolken, ganz wenige nur
das Meer ist azur, türkis und grün
da ist das Wasser nur knietief
auf den Lippen der Geschmack von Salz
tropischem Holz, Palmen
Strandgut, weiß gebleicht von der Sonne
ich lasse es liegen
der Wind, Süd-Südost
er spielt träge mit den Wellen und
meinem Strohhut, gekauft für zwei Dollar
leicht sinken die bloßen Zehen
in den weichen Sand, geküsst von Gischt
hier will ich bleiben
doch es geht weiterendless sky
plucked clouds, just a few
the sea is azure, turqouise and green
there, the water is only knee-deep
on my lips the taste of salt
tropic wood, palms
waifs blanched of the sun
I let it there
the wind, south – southeast
lazily he plays with the waves and
my straw hat, bought for two bucks
slightly my bare toes sink
into the sand, kissed by the spume
here I want to stay
but it goes on349
