A charmingly quirky and inquisitive adventurer, Khloe Quince is a gentle empath whose sharp eye and maverick spirit enrich the lives of those she loves.
Born to a preeminent local business owner and an esteemed art curator, Khloe came from a family of cultured and punctilious professionals. The youngest of two children, and the only girl, Khloe was often doted on by her father who rarely understood in full his daughter and her many peculiar idiosyncrasies. For one, the empathic yet strong-willed young girl would see what so many others overlooked and rarely accepted mundane musings over the possibilities of magic at play. Whether ostensibly sensing the presence of paranormal entities or recollecting once-lost knowledge, through her empathy and candidness, the opossum stood apart from most children her age. Seeing much but saying little, Khloe Quince would prove an invaluable asset in the pursuit of the supernatural.
When Khloe was seven, she and her family moved up north from Des Moines and settled in the northwestern suburbs of Ames, Iowa. That summer, she became the last to join the Stony Brook neighborhood kids which included her future boyfriend at one time, Tyson Bishop, and his myriad friends. Over the course of ten years, Khloe, Tyson and the others experienced one paranormal encounter after another in quick succession. In turn, each experience left an indelible imprint on her life. Much like the raccoon she befriended, the opossum felt for many years that somebody or some people were missing from their lives. Yet the memory and cognizance of these supposed missing persons never truly dissipated. In fact, Khloe’s belief only solidified with time. She came to understand that whatever happened to them as kids resulted in these inexplicable disappearances. Stemming from a shared summer experience after sixth grade at Lake Okoboji and a remarkably perspicuous memory of bright lights in a nearby forest, the possum sought the truth wherever that road would lead.
One day that road led both Khloe and her friend Jakub into a copse of trees just off the beaten path of a secluded sidewalk around North River Valley Park. It was then that the young opossum and her friend had their first confirmed encounter with the supernatural. There they were confronted by a vampire named Johan who came to assist them in rescuing Tyson, who had since disappeared a couple days prior. It was soon revealed that he’d been kept prisoner at a secret facility in West Des Moines for reasons which still elude Khloe and everyone else. Ever since that day, Khloe, Jakub and all the rest from Stony Brook operate as interns for Native Altars, a defense company employed by the United States government.
I want to take some time to thank the great
fcsimba for all the work you see here! It's always a thrill to work with somebody who's not only kind but possesses remarkable skill and expertise. I'm so happy to hear yet another one of my characters receive such stellar treatment. I really can't thank them enough for all their hard work and effort, and if you like what you see here, I'm sure you'll find plenty more in their gallery.
