It's the lack of visual impact on Amon's face from being slapped. Isolde does the wind-up, the blurry arm lands the hit, but Amon is still chilling like he's taking a nap. Not to mention there's no red-mark anywhere upon touch-down. Amon looks too... 'Natural' and relaxed from just being knocked into next week, his head shows no indication of the slap.
This story comic or novel whatever you call does have a good story and artwork....but is so goddamn slow as balls...like hell why don't you just focus on a damn project at a time honestly this story has barely moved forward since I was in middle school back in 2009 to 2010. And I could care less if take this advice as an insult or not but really why not focus 100% on this story before jumping off to make a billion more witch by your work pace will only half way get done when all life on the galaxy hits the bucket.
But then again I won't be surprised by the time am 55 years old this story will still take forever to finish.

Because it's free.
Each pages takes around 40-50 hours, and we've never managed to turn a profit on the damn thing, even withholding the adult content for a printed release. If it were something I could make a living wage off of, it would be possible to invest more of my time into it, rather than working on Patreon projects and things like Menagerie to pay the bills. But since it's not. . . it's a passion project, and will remain so. Even our Kickstarter ended up in the red due to printing costs.
What you're offering isn't advice, by the way. It's 'work harder, I want this thing faster'. That's just a demand, or a complaint, and it IS insulting, whether you care that it is or not. And I assure you, it is literally impossible for me to focus all of my time on Red Lantern without swiftly becoming homeless. I'd think the fact that I've worked on it for 10 years despite that would be proof that I love the project enough to put my all into it. I cannot put any more time into it than I do already.

Don't get me wrong, I love it :)
Inspiration, well yes. But it gives me a whole world where I can run away from this one and I love being there.
Also the art, it's fantastic. From page to page I always amaze how talented you (and I mean all of you, who created this universe) are and I realize I never gonna be this good in writing. But what I want to say, is a big "Thank you for this". I know a lot of stories and comics but this is the one I will never forget.

I do have to say that this is the longest surviving comic that I have ever known has not actually been declared long dead. When you expect its long dead and buried it comes back from the dead. For a while...
I'm surprised that the story was not just published in text form so all the trouble to make it into a comic strip could be avoided.

I've considered doing novels instead for the last three books, but the series isn't 'dead'. There have been constant, ongoing novels for Red Lantern over the last 7 years, including currently. They just aren't comics, and not all of them are posted here.
The graphic novel itself is a massive undertaking, and I don't consider spending 3-4 years on each volume to be unusual. I've followed a lot of projects, graphic novel or otherwise, that go decades between releases. And many of those are produced by studios with hundreds of artists working on them. I don't think there's a right or wrong timeline for a story to come out. People will float in and out of following it, new people will find it, some will lose interest, and all of that is okay by me.
Do I wish I had more time to commit to the graphic novel itself? Absolutely. But I'm one person, and I have to work on projects that pay my bills, and unfortunately this one never has. So, I'm content to take it at whatever pace I have to.

I remember reading one of these comics like a decade ago. Guess it’s a good thing I picked up reading and writing again just so happened to stumble across you again today. Really like the passion you’ve put into these comics and hope that I can reciprocate the same passion for mine. Dedication like yours is hard to find. It’s been awhile sense I’ve lost myself in a comic. Anyway take care rukis.
