"His name is Loki."
"Loki? Loki the Trickster? Why?"
"Cause when we found him, he tricked us all into thinking he was gonna die, and he didn't. Then he made us all think he was a grumpy old man, and he's not"
"KREE-aaaaar!"
Loki’s previous name was Tseer Lionheart, as given to him by his previous master. His master was a quite arrogant fellow, though he was none too bright. He had horrible habits of riding recklessly into fights for no reason, no matter the risk. Many of his “valor quests” involved hunting and killing wild gryphons, or other great beasts. It was during one of these quests, following a male Thunder Gryphon into a terrible storm, that the modern knight met his end. Against the advice of many people, he mounted his massive gryphon, dressed in all sorts of odd metal “armors” and took off into the storm. Though he quickly lost sight of the wild gryphon, he continued the chase. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed right beside them, startling Tseer. He veered right, his left leg and wing connecting with the tip of a tall pine tree. In the same moment, another bolt of lightning struck his master right in the chest, attracted to a large, gaudy medallion on his neck. His rider was killed instantly, but unfortunately for Tseer, the bolt traveled through his master’s body, down his leg and wing, and into the tree, which burst into flame. Crippled and stunned, Tseer crashed into another tree nearby, falling all the way down to the ground. For several days, he was unable to move. It was then when a passing Gypsy band made camp nearby, and a young boy named Dai stumbled across the gryphon and his deceased rider lying in the dirt. They gypsies gave his master a proper burial, and spent several grueling weeks nursing the injured gryphon back to full health. Though the gryphon was irate and frightened of people, Dai insisted they keep him, and spent much of his time trying to coax the gryphon to eat or walk with them. It took a great deal of time, but Dai’s work paid off, and Tseer, now named Loki by his new young master, became so attached to Dai that he followed him everywhere, which helped him strengthen his severely injured leg. Unfortunately, his injuries were permanent, and his wing had to be removed. In light of his new flightlessness, Loki was still able to run and trot after Dai wherever he went, no matter how awkward he may be.
Part of a story I'm playing around with right now. Loki's design was the second most prominant one in my brain, so i did him first. This story is based around all these gryphon breeds i've been playing with lately.....TOO MANY GRYPHONS! XD I've lost count of how many breeds i've been playing with.
Anyways.....yup.
