The premise of this pic is quite simple, the mane six, which consists of Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie pie, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Rarity, all forming a ring to pull off some spectacular supernatural feat. They are accompanied by an OC, who goes by the name of Zephyr. Each of the ponies has their element of Harmony in tow, and Twilicorn is looking to Zeph for a little moral support. Always nice to have someone in your corner right?
The whole thing takes place in a clearing within the Everfree forest so the setting should look fairly familiar. I constructed this image to be very reminiscent of the show, with a few tweaks here and there to add a splash of detail and flash.
There is a lot to love about this picture. I worked in a few inside jokes I’ve seen around the web. I am very pleased with the implementation of Fluttershy’s “yay” expression. It’s quite cute. I also like how the whole magic effect came to fruition. Its not overbearing, but it is clearly there.
There are a lot of characters in this image, but the spacing turned out favorable as well. Each pony has enough real estate to do whatever it is they are doing, and no one feels cramped. I know spacing is drawing 101 stuff, but I still get excited about the little accomplishments every now and again.
