You find yourself lost in a dark forest. No, not just dark. An aura of foreboding weighs down on you. No light penetrates the veil that hangs overhead. No moon. No stars. No sign of the horizon or the way out.
Suddenly you catch a shape. You heard nothing but you swear you saw something on all fours dart around you before ducking behind a tree. On edge, you continue looking at the tree waiting for the form to reveal itself. You’re startled as a feral wolf seemingly appears out of nowhere brushing up against your leg.
The sight and shock sends you stumbling onto your rear. This wolf is huge. Larger than any you’ve ever heard of as he looms over you. Fearing that this is the end, the wolf pushes off with his fore legs and starts to take an upright stance. He begins to grow larger, his body reshaping into an anthro stature. Wrappings also start to appear. Robes, cloak, a staff.
A Druid!
His staff gives off a pail glow as he speaks. “What are you doing here? This is no place for mortals. You’re lucky I found you first for there are many malevolent Wild forces that prey on the unsuspecting and unprepared.” He reaches out his hand, a beacon of protection here to guide you to safety from the mystic wild forest you stumbled into.
An alternate caption I had for this was “It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this. (offers hand)”
Creature_Unknown is offering YCH slots for Inktober this month and I grabbed yesterday’s “WILD” prompt. At first I was planning on doing my predictable thing of asking for yet another werewolf version of WulfBane but as I was sending my ref, the idea of a druid version struck that it could also work for “WILD” as I was on my way to my D&D campaign where I play a druid.
