I can definitely relate. Its honestly why I love playing D&D so much.

When trying so hard everyday, to improve your situation and not have to be so disappointed with your life; it can take months, if not multiples of years to eventually get to that point.

Its so nice to be able to have that escape, don a character, forget yourself and just escape life for a few hours while working ever so tirelessly.

Every day I hope the next will be better than the last. And it is amazing when it is.

Also in case you didn't know but D&D has had a huge resurgence in popularity that its probably ever seen.

I've playtested it across a wide spectrum of people since 1990 when I finished it.

The bottom fell out of the paper and pencil and your imagination market with the advent of Playstation and X box in 1992. Because computer games and Playstation etc are one play never played again, one direction to go in the game, this has run its course, people are tired of "you can't go that way" or puzzle passage games with the sameness to them.
