This took ages and I must say I'm quite pleased with how it came out. It's one of the most detailed pieces in terms of design I've done and it certainly shows how much my art has changed since my initial work. Whilst those few of you who even know who this guy may, as with Levi, be a bit surprised by this design, I am too and, again as with Levi's, this design is anything but permanent, despite the time this took.
Typical that the lesser characters have more complex, well-thought out and more original designs than my main character >.<
Again you can probably see more than a "little" bit of inspiration for his design came from a certain video game series ;)
Oh and yes this guy is one of the protagonists, not a villain, despite the chaos and destruction in the background. For a paradise the future sure can be an apocalyptic place...
(...I may see if I can quickly get the Levi, Omega and Young Flames arts together into something resembling my usual lineless style for sake of comparison. And what with the visor obscuring Omega's face somewhat I may resubmit part of this without the visor)
(C) 2010 HoKaze no Flames. Made in GIMP as per usual.

Heh. Though I always have the image of Flames having really battle-worn armour that's partly lost colour and faded, whereas Omega has something more 'modern' and better looking. I think, not sure because I can't remember all the details of Omega, might also be that my image of him is with less armour
I must agree with that image. Although my artistic style always seems to use bright colours for Flames and he's never seen with the helmet he wears most of the time in the story, realistically his armour would be more faded, cracked, etc despite constant repairs. And yes, I always saw Omega has having more modern armour and weaponry (besides his Blaster he's pretty good with some heavy weapons) whilst Flames' design is more outdated, hence the armour style (more like traditional armour than futuristic in a way) and use of sword-like weapons.
I really need to draw Flames with his helmet at some point ^^;
