Isolation
"Hey Dad it's me. . . Brauner. I’m sorry I haven't come to see you recently I’ve just been feeling like crap." A white paw came down and placed a bouquet of roses atop the marble tomb stone set before him, the bull looked up to the sky and let out a heavy sigh before looking down once more at the grave. "It's already been seventeen years since you left me huh. . . " He looks upon his paw before him the white fur contrasting his black open fingered gloves the gloves custom made for his two large fingers and thumb. Letting out another heavy sigh, he spoke clearly, as if the stone was his deceased father. "I wish you were here Dad. I'm trying to deal with the fact im different from the other bull’s . . . hell the other people in general even." The paw clenches into a fist as Brauner tries to control himself. "Why..why i was born so.....different" His rage replaced with a deep sigh filled with sorrow and sadness. Staring at the grave Brauner managed to regain his composure. "You'd probably tell me to keep my head high and ignore them all, that they just fear what's different huh." Leaning back Brauner grunts pressing his back against the nearby oak tree, his eyes close as the wind blows over him gently soothing his anger and luring him to fall asleep. Eyes heavily lidded, fighting the desire to rest if only for a moment before speaking to himself one final time before passing out. "I’m sorry. . . "
It only seemed like a few moments that Brauner had his eyes closed and yet he looked up and saw the sun had set and the stars greeted him instead. Arching his body, he got to his hooves, grunting and scratching his side before waving to the grave. "I’ll be back another time dad." With that, he left the lonely graveyard. Upon returning to the main road expecting to meet the loud obnoxious bustle of the town, Brauner, instead, met only deafening silence. Confused would be an understatement for Brauner. Leaving the graveyard, he started walking down the sidewalk to his home. The usual commotion of cars in traffic instead replaced with an eerie fog, which seem to lace the town's every crack, The clacking of Brauner's hooves the only sound gracing his ears during the trip through the now seemingly dead town. The fur on his back stood on end, something was wrong and he knew it. The clacking of Brauner’s hooves got louder with each passing moment until he broke out into a jog. Up until he passed the local mall, the only sound that could be heard was the echoing of his hooves on the ground and his now tired breath panting in time with it. This pattern of panting and clacking was suddenly broken from what sounded like crying. Stopping dead in his tracks, Brauner looked toward the mall. Someone was alive in there and probably afraid for the same seasons he had come to embrace.
Gathering his nerves, Brauner walked to the mall entrance, pushed the doors open and took one step inside, where he was greeted with blinding pain in his skull. Cursing heavily, his gaze became locked on the entrance doors. The arc way was suddenly shorter than before, enough to strike his head in the manor the pain gave him. Suddenly from nowhere the laughter of many echoed off the walls of the mall. A mixture of confusion and embarrassment washed over Brauner from having struck his head on yet another doorway. Trying to overcome the pain in his head, he trotted off into the dark mall to find a seat and recover. It took three more doorways and light fixtures shattering on his head for him to find a chair, The maniacal laughter drowning out any chance of thought in his mind. He sat there trying hard to focus and recover. Once the blinding pain in his head subsided so did the venomous laughter. Moments after the pain subsided the crying had started again, it was much louder now and easy to distinguish as being a child's voice. "This is seriously fucked up" He muttered under his breath before getting up to walk toward the source of the crying once more.
Brauner had managed to reach the mall's food court, but something was definitely wrong here. The walls, the tables, everything in sight were covered in rust and blood as if the mall had been condemned after a murder. It was enough to send shivers down his spine but the crying was close, the kid needed help. Thinking like a child, he knelt down beside one of the tables and finally found the frightened little one. Brauner couldn't believe what he saw before him, it was a younger version of himself covered in blood and crying. The child looked up and spoke only a few words. "They killed my daddy . . . you have to hide or they'll kill you too!" The child had a look of horror on his face promptly running away in the opposite direction Brauner was facing. A pang of fear washed over him as he realized what was about to happen, the grinding of metal on the floor was heard and he turned to face his inevitable killer. The shadowy figure swung the blade down on Brauner’s skull. Just as it was going to strike him, he snapped awake panting and sweating. Surveying his surroundings quickly he found he was back in the graveyard. "A dream?" There was a sigh of relief from the bull before standing up. The view on the horizon however made him lose his breath once more. Smoke filled the air and flames engulfed the once-bustling town, creatures of unimaginable origin were attacking the town’s folk. Screaming echoed in Brauner’s head as he took in the sight before he started to sprint away from the town. Only one thing was clear in his mind right now. Get the fuck out of town.
it took a while for a few reasons but chapter one? part one? whatever it is. first halfs done. brauner remembers what happen to his father and falls asleep. the mall scene is in his mind. so yeah there WILL be more to this. i just need to get around to it. currently working on brauner's life in the future from this.
