The design of the 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham is so unique in so many ways, from the arrangement of the lights, to the placement of the exhaust, to the dagmars in the rear and lack of what was then a conventional bumper. If you stand back and admire them from a distance, with their fins, dagmars front-and-back, and chrome trim on the side, they just look so bad-ass! Only 400 of these cars were built in 1957.
I love you for your pink Cadillac
Crushed velvet seats
Riding in the back
Cruising down the street
Waving to the girls F
eeling out of sight
Spending all my money
On a Saturday night
Honey I just wonder what you do there in back
Of your pink Cadillac

That's true. The Eldorado Brougham was meant to be a "halo car" to induce customers who would (hopefully) buy another Cadillac model. I've also read that GM simply wanted to outdo Ford's $10,000 Continental Mark II which debuted in 1956. That good old Ford/GM rivalry!
