KaniS and Murrah Interlocking Valentine's Day Badges
I made these as an experiment and I'm actually quite happy with them. Scanner ate all of Murrah's lovely markings, but it still looks really pretty. So, KaniS and Murrah, being cute with each other, expressing their love for one another.
I'm offering badges like these for about $35-$40 (a single detailed badge is $20- this is two characters, fully coloured and detailed, soooo) if anyone is interested in a Valentine's Day present for themselves and their Significant Other. I'm thinking I should only offer to do maybe five sets (I can do one a day, based on how long it took me to do these two), so folks can have theirs mailed to them in time for Valentine's Day.

Omigosh! someone who doesn't yer know about the awesomeness of Dr. Steel!
Ok, here's the skinny: Dr. Steel is an evil genius/mad scientist who makes hilarious Industrial/Steam punk music. think the darker sounds of bands like Apoptygma Berzerk, toss in a carnival and mix in a blender: Dr. Steel's music. His plan: he wants to take over the world, of course! but with an interesting agenda- he wants to do it so people can simply play. He calls it a Utopian Playland... Anyway, the Toy Soldiers are his growing force that he's going to use to take over the world and become World Emperor.
Yes, it's a gag- but it's a fun gag, and there's a group of people who are fans of either the SteamPunk genre or Steel's music or both, who have formed up this crazy fan group called the Toy Soldiers. You might have seen some of us at Cons (I can't recall if you've ever mentioned going to any, though)- we call it an Invasion and generally we're just being silly, wearing our uniforms, passing out stickers and other propaganda for laffs.

Yah, I try to make each one a character of their own, with an evident personality. It helps for me to have good refs for those I'm doing as commissions, too. *grins* These ones were mostly for an experiment to see If I could get the two badges to interlock. We'll see how ell they do once they're laminated. They're just cut out and linked together right now.
I dunno what the problem is with the scanners- I figure it's the powerful ight that basically drowns everything out that below a certain opacity value. On these, it might be also because there's iridescent paint on them reflecting some of the light back and fading out the colours somewhat. I put gold on KaniS and an opalescent paint on me.
