Starmie are one of the fastest Pokemon in the game, and I always train water type pokemon to have high Sp. Def.

So lets run a scenario;

Starmie used Confused Ray!
Dragonite is confused!
Dragonite used Shockwave!
It's super effective!
Starmie is in the orange because Shockwave is weaaaaaaak.
Starmie used Psychic.
Dragonite is confused!
Dragonite hurt itself in it's confusion.
Repeat 3 times, Dragonite has fainted!

So new scenario.

Dragonite used Thunder.
Starmie is in the red becuase Thunder is pwnsome.
Starmie uses Psychic.
Dragonite is confused.
Dragonite hurts itself.
Starmie uses psychic.
Dragonite is in the red, it uses thunder.
Starmie Faints.

If you were using Thunder, I would have Starmie use Double team, and unless you're crazy, you'd only have one electric attack on Dragonite. Thunder only have 65% of hitting on it's own, when Starmie double teams, you've only got a 37.5% to hit. Then you've got to bet you've only got 50% of even getting a chance to attack at all, and not hurt yourself. Giving you an 18.75% chance of ever hitting at all. If you were using shock wave, odds are 50% that I'll live and you die.

Seriously don't understand why you needed to bring up some weird nerd head-butting fest. Pokemon is like the only RPG where style comes after stats. :S Starmie isn't the best, but why the fuck start some macho fest over your choice for a group of pixels? lol
