***This is a Next level Commission***

Hey look at that. I just finished up another commission for a frequent buyer. This time the subject is a look into the possible future of his written stories as we over look a scene featuring Rainbow Dash and Lighting Dust about to square off while in their super states. Here is the blurb:


“H-How…”Rainbow Dash’s stuttered as her jaw slackened, but from shock or fear, she couldn’t say. Her hoof quickly touching the element of loyalty around her neck and utterly bewildered as to their being another and that she, of all ponies, wore it. “How is this possible?!”

“What’s the matter Rainbow?” Lightning Dust asked, her voice rife with smugness.

Her mind raced to comprehend how it was feasible, but as she took in the sight of the pegasus before her, coat as black as a furious storm, icy blue eyes that chilled her soul, and whose mane and tail were comprised of a violent flickering bolts and fulmination that crackled with unbridled energy that filled her ears, it no longer mattered how it was possible. Rainbow Dash quickly gritted her teeth and her fiery mane billowed angrily as she realized that the only thing that mattered now was that she had one hell of a fight ahead of her.

“You look like someone just,” she began again, but suddenly paused as she clenched her eyes shut as her muscles tensed and quivered from the rush of power whilst arcs of lightning jumped across her body. She let out a quite moan of ecstasy that turned into cocky chuckling as she reopened her eyes to drink in the uneasiness and worry of her foe. A grin filled with hate spread to her lips while malice and cruel intentions danced behind her eyes. “Walked over your grave.”


I had to really dig into my bag of Dark Magic for all the special effects in this one. There is a myriad of lighting effects and transparency all throughout this image. It makes for a rather nice spectacle. The style for this image is quite different than previous Next Lvl ponies I have done. It is much more reminiscent of the MLP shows anatomy rather than that of a real horse. Dash’s hair has obtained fire-like properties, while her counterpart sports a much more electric look. Both are clad with a variety of lighting techniques to help display their power.

The background is a damaged battlefield that is being simply abused by the violent thunderstorm overhead. Many areas of the ground are simply smoldering after recent lighting strikes and the land itself has been fractured and pierced by jutting spires of rock. It is a fitting arena for such a pic as you would imagine two combatants of this caliber would produce a monumental amount of collateral damage. The sky has been filled with rolling storm clouds that fade into the distance. They only fade to reveal a spectacular moon that almost demands a good view of the battle unfolding below while it shines it majestic light across it. Add in some smoke to the surface to increase depth and I dare say you have yourself an amazing image.
