I like the idea that Tarvash would be from another world. Possibly an alien civilisation that was once a conquering empire in the distant past, but that now it has limited its military, leaving those with fighting skills with fairly few options. But fighting simply for coin or for the sake of fighting does not appeal to Tarvash, so he tries to leverage his abilities as a superhero on what is, to him, a remote world.
