Thank you! For this image, I can't recall exactly what brushes I used. But I can tell you that default brushes at a larger size with generous use of a lasso tool will get you similar results. I like having pressure sensitivity set to opacity for that, too.
I hope that's helpful!

I enjoyed reading your artist statement on this. It runs analogous to my own thoughts recently on furry-and-post-furry art movements; specifically that, from art to costuming, furry is often about obliterating the personal identity in favor of the concept (furry art characters tend to run more fantastical, full-body fursuits erase the person inside and their performer's personalities disappear into the character), while post-furry seems to be leaning harder into the integration of personal identity with the anthropomorphization. (Artwork like this that focuses on and celebrates the realistic personal identities. Poodling and other half-costuming seeks to integrate style and lifestyle choices with a character, is more comfortable treating the anthro character as a lifestyle accessory than an intrinsic identity, etc.)
I think we're approaching an era where can have some sincere and sober discussions about furry vs post-furry as art movements, and how the distinction is evolving, and why it is so artistically rewarding to see that refocus on integration and celebration of personal identity and style in the works.
I hope you keep going with this direction. I really want to see where it takes you and your work.

What a wonderful comment to receive! Thank you so much for that.
It's encouraging to know someone else is as invested in that journey between where furry is and where it could be.
And I'm so happy you are excited about future images of MJ, because I really am too!
