I colored them manually, then click'd on them w/ the eyedrop tool, pushed the color up to make it whiter, then brushtool'd over them.
So the answer is yesh. ^^

Funny you should say that. The pic I was using as reference was from a house that had that very panelling in that room. :O
I just elected to do a more basic mahogany sort of thing.
