Story Writing - Why following the rules matters - An apol...
I would like to extend an apology to
graphographer
She ended up looking bad because of a stupid story decision of mine.
One of the basic rules of story writing is "Show don't tell" the corollary is: "If you have to tell, you did not show it right".
Due to my hubris and idiocy she ended up looking like somebody that did not know how to draw.
After thanking
Derden for her comment I asked for feedback around the people i know online to understand why it took about 1 month and an half for the first person to comment on what i thought was a "clever" thing...
...and taking a moment to appreciate the people that when i pointed to the one person seeing it... they said she was "rude" 🤦♂️😂 ... talk about looking at the finger instead of the moon... 😂
Well... another rule that helps in story writing is that you have to show something multiple times to show that the "something" is a rule.
Unfortunately i chose to show the "unhinged" mentality of the inventor... before showing how the world should look like without "his crazy".
This led at least some to believe
graphographer was the culprit, while it was, instead, a choice of mine, and we talked at length over how and why to do it this way.
So i am sorry.
This image will soon be moved to scraps. But i wanted it to be (at least for a while) at the top of my uploads.
And remember kids. Respecting artists is also: DO NOT FREAKING ASK STUFF THAT WORKS ONLY IN YOUR HEAD! 😂
...
Looks like i was a bit too obsessed with this comic too. 😂👍💖
Ah, well... lesson learned. I hope i won't do something this bad. Again. 😅

Long story short: i asked the artist to make the workshop very slightly wonky/picassoed, so that it would show that the inventor was slightly unhinged.
You know, when lines that should be parallel do not add up, where there obviously are corner but then there are not, when there are 3 different perspectives being used in just the main scene alone... That kind of sstuff.
People just assumed the artist did not know how to draw, but it did not detract from the story.
