a lot of trial and error, mostly! I also redrew those hands a bunch of times until I finally settled for what you see there, which still isn't that good but it's the best I can do at the time. It's the same way I wanted her face to look more upturned, but couldn't make it look right so I settled for a lower angle and just moved the hands down to match it. One day I hope to be able to draw something without resorting to compromises and work-arounds :I
