fun fact ahuizotl is a "aquiatic dog-monkey" BUT the meaning is real life is otter, th otters and this creature have the same name in aztec (nahuatl)
The best way to distinguish them today is by the way in which their names are written since the pronunciation is the same (the Mayans read and wrote, but the Aztecs did not, they had all spoken and drawn)
Ahuizotl/ahuitzotl: aquatic aztec monster (it's usually black, brown and gray)

I love mythology and fantasy and I saw this creature floating around on DA and I wanted to have a shot at the design
I didn't know this was associated with otters, or an emperor either
