alright here we go again with posting pics
(note: I screwed this up a little, so I put it into my scraps...)
the inspiration was a riddle I found on the internet.
Three unfortunate cowboys are captured by an indian tribe and poletied and blindfolded. They are tied to the poles so that one captive cowboy can see both his comrades, the cowboy in the middle position can only see his front comrade and the cowboy on the first pole can´t see either of his friends.
The chieftain explains the riddle:
"Listen! You have a chance to get back your freedom. You are blindfolded for now. I have five feathers here. Three feathers are black and two are white. I will put one feather on each of your cowboyhats. After that your blindfolds will be removed. Now you have the chance to tell me, what color the feather has that is on your own hat that you are wearing.
It is forbidden to talk with each other, you may not look back over your shoulder and you are not allowed to shake your heads to throw off the hat to find out the feather´s color. You have one chance. If you can not solve the riddle or if you break the rules, you are tickled with the feathers as a punishment."
After a long time of silence, one cowboy can give the answer to get back their freedom.
Now I would like to aks you all: Do you know which cowboy can give the correct answer on what color the feather on his own hat has?
One word of advice: There are three possible versions to solve this riddle^^

Let's see if I get this right...
If cowboy in the back see two white feathers, he knows he has black feather.
If one in middle don't hear back one talking and see white feather, he knows he has black feather (as if he had white the one in back could answer). If he sees black he can't tell.
Then one in front can only have black if neither cowboys behind him answered.
Of course there is also chance someone know answer but for some reason 'punishment' seem more interesting option for him

O-Ooh. Somehow didn't expect that to be asked <//u//>
Well with their necks all tied and heads sort of bound, I just kind of imagine feathers lightly tickling all their noses. Trying to desperately resist the urge to sneeze 'for' their captor. Unable to turn their heads away from the tickly feathers teasing him. Attempting to find vulnerability, lightly dusting the noses with wispy feathers, twirling at and in their nostrils. Causing an itch to slowly build in all three of their cute snouts~ ;//u//;
Could also of course teasingly walk circles around them, the anxiety of not knowing if they were going to begin tickling them as the captor walked behind them. Waiting for them to come back into view on the other side. But sometimes that would take longer than others~

Also about the riddle. Is it even valid?
Because it seems like EVERYTHING rides on the response of the one in the back, seeing as the middle and front have no way or knowing. And unless they are both wearing white, the one in the back cannot be fully sure of what color he is wearing unless he can SEE the leftover feathers anywhere. I know how they COULD get the right answer, but it's not consistently possible it seems. The one in the back is the only one who could possibly know, really. But that depends on what feathers are being worn

Near a tree by a river there's a hole in the ground,
Where an old man of Aran goes around and around.
And his mind is a beacon in the veil of the night.
For a strange kind of fashion there's a wrong and a right
But he'll never, never fight over you
Sorry, couldn't help myself XD. But yeah that is quite the interesting little riddle, and as always a great piece of work to go with it.

It's actually a song called "The Riddle" by Nik Kershaw

Hmmm it's time to make my ferret-mind work.. so if I well understand theyr are placed in I I I so the first one can only see the back of the middle one and the first one, and the middle one can only see the back of the first one than himself can't see nothing so for him it will be difficult to know the feather placed on his hat >~<...
Also it mean.. we have 5 Feathers with two different color and we have 3 hats, I suppose the chief will not put a black feather on each if he realy want give the freedom (it will be difficult for the cowboy to answer because they'll necessarly think it can't have 3 feathers of the same color, too much easy so too much risqued to answer)
So we go from a situation where the chief will put necessarly a different color feather between the three.
Our cowboy know they have 3 black and 2 white so now it's a bit more easy to answer :
We admit the cowboy in middle have a black feather but he don't know so he look at the one face to him and see a black feather . For him it's difficult because he can't know what color is the feather of the friend behind him.. so he can just wait the one behind talk the good color. Because if the one back see the 2 black he can say he have the white. And automaticly the middle can say he have the black and the first one can say the same because he have hear 1 white and one black so by deduction he must think he can only have the black in other way his friend was unable to know theyr color. And if the 2 first have a white the last one in back know he can only have the black and we come at the same situation , each one will be able to give the right answer.
So in our situation our 3 friends depend of the first one behind the two other because he is the once able to see 2/3 color
The situation become complicate if he see 1 white feather and 1 black feather because in this case he can have the second white or an other black and in that case he have 1/2 chance to give the good aswer or.. to be tickled end train his both friend in the same situation. Of course all I have said before work only if the chief is honnest and will not put the 3 black feathers on each hats XD....
So deduction this riddle is crual because the 3 cowboy depend of one of them and if this one prefer be tickled than freedom well.. he'll fail the game by his own way X3.... it's realy a question of trust in each other there. Very difficult riddle, especialy because in theyr situation theyr brain will have some difficulty to think well cause of the stress and know about the punishment waiting them...
In any case it's a very interesting riddle you show us there and he could even be used in a game and we can have more people in if we pass the 2 white at 4 and the 3 black at 6 we can have 6 participant !
Well so here I wonder if these 3 are very close friends or not... if not they'll laugh pretty soon and if yes well they have 1/2 to laugh it's an honnest way to realease prisonner because they realy have a chance to win ;p.
Of course i know a certain Rat there could escape easily with his power but strangly he keep calm hmmm... maybe solewhere he dream of some feathers brushing his rodent-feet > w>... but it keep a very great and funny work here Eternal, good job for have found this riddle ):3

It's indeed a very tricky situation X3 depend of one of your friend for your freedome what a dilem.
Also I found funny and interesting the idea to have two of them tickled and the last one go away on his horse X3 (the unknow Cowboy in that case because we'll not have attach on him because he is an unknow character without identity :p)

well theres 2 feathers that get taken out of the possible 5.
The worst possible scenario is one feather is white, and one is black.
the best possible scenario is both are white.
I don't really know how you're supposed to figure it out which one you have, because there are multiple possibilities of it being up to chance, since you can't check.

no harm in that^^
as for the riddle, it is rather a puzzle for logic situations
in short each cowboy can say that his own feather is black if the third one sees two white feathers, the second one can say so, if the third cowboy stays calm, so he would know that there are no two white feathers involved, and if the middle cowboy now sees a white feather on his front man, he would know that his own feather is black, but if the middle cowboy also keeps his mouth shut, the first cowboy would know that his middle companion clearly does see a black feather, so he could get to know the color of his feather without seeing it.

no hard feelings about that. Even I only could figure out scenario one with the 3rd cowboy seeing two white feathers in front of him, but for the other scenarios, I needed to look up the answers myself and after that it was rather facepalmworthy obvious to me^^;
if the thrid cowboy sees two white feathers on his comrades, he would answer: my feather is black.
If he sees one black and one white feather, he must be silent. The middle cowboy know this. If he can see a white feather on his front comrade, he would say: My feather is black.
If the middle cowboy sees a black feather on his front comrade, he must stay silent. So the front cowboy would know that his own feather can not be possibly be white, so he would answer, after waiting long enough: My feather is black

I think I got this one.
The one in the back says he has a black feather. The two in front of him have white feathers.
I know this because of a certain wording in the riddle.
The Indian who has them captive placed the feather according to their hat color. The cowboys in the middle and right each have a white hat meaning they get a white feather. But the one on the left is cleverly shaded, meaning his hat is black. Seeing that that his friends in front of him has white feathers he can clearly he knows that he has a black one.
So the one in the back gets his freedom, while the two remaining black feathers are used to tickle torture the two that lost.

It's a tricky riddle though one I think that Eternal being wise and intelligent could probably figure out easily enough if not having come across it before and knowing the answer and Fafnir perhaps could also work it out. Eternal's little squeak though I think might mean he's perhaps recalling other times and other incarnations of himself where he's all too frequently been on the receiving end of tickling and I could see that distracting him and he could well get the answer wrong, while it could go either way for Fafnir. It could all come down to luck in the end.
There's also the possibility of course that Eternal might have annoyed the chieftain if he'd say been flirting with his daughter or something similar while he was being tied up which I wouldn't put past him in which case if he gets the answer right perhaps the chieftain might decide he deserves to get a little punishment anyway.
More than likely we'll hear lots of squeaky laughter and possibly deep rumbling laughs as these two cowboys get a feathering.
At least in the end it's a relatively mild punishment, more a bit of a humiliating experience for the cowboys and probably serving to discourage them from crossing the tribe again.
