Spotted Hyenas on the Islands follow the same basic hierarchy and social structure as wild spotted hyenas. The males tend to be very very submissive while the Females tend to be far more dominant and in places of power. This has led to some male hyenas to go to stranger and stranger extremes to get a lady's attention, (or in some cases start dating outside their species.) One such 'method' is putting the male in perceived peril so the female can rescue him. On the other side of the coin, Males uninterested in gaining the attention of a female within their own species might get hog tied and put in a silly girl-trap for a good laugh.
