Crypty is a Limbo Cat.
He was a product of a failed ritual meant to bring a spirit back from the dead. It only sorta half worked as he is a creature that is neither of the Living nor of the Dead. He wanders the world in search for a way to break his curse. He has broken memories from his time when he was alive. He tries to piece together his past in order to discover who he was and where he goes from here.
He is good natured but is on the timid side. He tries to interact with the Living but most find his appearance scary and he is labeled demonic by some. Being not truly dead, he is unable to stay in the land of the Dead. He possess some ghostly and supernatural powers but he is having trouble controlling them. He can speak to spirits so he can act as a medium for the Living.
He carries around a ghost light lantern because, despite the fact his head is on fire, he is afraid of the dark. Perhaps one day he will be able to rediscover his past and be able to either rejoin the Living or be able to be laid to rest and rejoin the Dead.

I cannot tell you how great this design is. I always find it really nice how some people decide to take their adopts to the next level. But you, you basically make the adoptive go from level 1 to level 100.
You combine multiple aspects involving death / graveyard settings. And you can bring them in such a way that it really ties the character design together. The design isn't over overcomplicated but is not plain or boring. Great work my friend
