You really do not want to meet Tesla Valafar. Don't say she's cute, don't think she looks cuddly, don't even try and let the idea into your mind that she is a friendly, nice Luxray.

First of all, Tesla belongs to my pal

That's a long story I don't feel like getting into, but the short version is Ember is privileged and Tesla likes her enough to not try to murder her. One could also question why Ember is even remotely near such a creature, and my answer to that is Ember is willing to be friends with just about anyone so long as what they do doesn't affect her or those she loves negatively. Somehow this hasn't caused much overlap yet.
I wonder if that makes Ember chaotic neutral. Hum.
For those curious, yes Ember's prey is fine. She'd have shooed them away as fast as possible the moment they reformed, if Tesla was still around.
